First “Ace Café”style Classic meet at Shouldham

Sunday 5th April.

Many thanks to Kings Lynn club members who turned out in force to support the first event to be run at the Kings arms in Shouldham.

Tony Longmate (Healey 3000),Dave Bowen(TR250),Jody Wilson (TR7),Sandy Wilson (Frogeye Sprite),Nick Daubney (MGB), Steve Tilburn (Mk1 Mexico), new member Terry Sprosson (Ford Model A), plus my faithful PV544 running in after its engine rebuild.

In all there were between 40 and 50 cars and 2 wheel brigade bikes and scooters, parked in the pub car park and round the village green including 10 or so from the MG car club making the most of the pub catering enjoying a Sunday lunch in the pub . The rest of using the adjoining café for a well- earned pork and stuffing roll, to go with a pint.

Dave Sooley this is your kind of event !

American cars were well represented with a typical pick-up having enough room in the back to carry a mini.

Two interesting specials ,both sounding very sporty, one was bodied as a replica of Ascari’s Mille Miglia winning Lancia in 1954 the year before Moss won in the Mercedes.

A full report will be in the next Valve bounce but the gallery of pictures is in the link.

Thanks to Ian Skinner for marshalling the cars round the green and making his excellent pub so welcoming. A copy of the pub menu is in the gallery ,well worth a visit or join us for the next gathering on may 3rd. I will miss this as I am rallying on Epynt that weekend.
