Happy New Year.
Between Christmas and New Year, the club was involved with the Rixy Stages at the Stanta Training Area near Thetford, this year was dry so it made for fast flowing stages and was well organised by the AMSC Team.
David Smalley was on the maps for Aaron Rix finishing 1st in class and 12th o/a in the Escort 1400. Will Brown on the maps for Sam Gendy finishing 2nd in class and 13th o/a, in the Mitsubishi Evo 9.
I was on the maps for Richard Malpass finishing 4th in class and 19th o/a in his Lancia Delta Integrale. Matt and Hannah Ellis in their Citroen Saxo VTS added another good performance finishing 7th in class and 32nd o/a, despite a braking a drive shaft on the penultimate stage.
Well done to all that competed and thanks to all the marshals from the club who ventured out to be on duty on the stages.
On 17 January it was the 4th round of the Circuit Rally Championship at Brands Hatch Winter Stages, this time Mathew Smalley was on the maps for Sam Gendy finishing 6th in class and 26th o/a in the Mitsubishi Evo 9, Matt and Hannah Ellis had another good result finishing 5th in class and 34th o/a.
The next round of the CRC will be the Snetterton Stages on 7th February with 5 members competing and several members on marshalling duties.
Following this is our Casino/Awards evening at Watlington Hall on 14th February, we have 7 tables booked at the moment, if you are quick and want to come get your order in by Friday 23rd January and we may be able to squeeze in some more people.
We hope to start our six round 12 car rally championship off with the 1st event on 27th February starting from Norfolk Classic & Sport cars at Fakenham, contact Rob Kitchen and Jonathan Stimpson for entries and marshals. Then following on with the next round on 11th March at Runcton Holme Social Club, details to follow.
Our AGM is on 16th March at Runcton Holme Social club at 7.30pm, come along if you want to have a say in the club going forward.
That’s all for now, see you soon.
Cheers
Dave
