Welcome to Full Chat. This month we had members Dale Glover with David Smalley on the maps competing on the Roger Albert Clark Rally 20-24 November, but unfortunately on stage one they suffered terminal engine failure, what a shame after all the preparation and work getting to the event. Better luck time when they are out in the Alfa.
Next up on 30 November was Donington Stages, Matt Ellis with Hannah Ellis on the maps competing in their Citroen Saxo starting at number 99 and finishing a credible 69 overall and 5th in class, they are improving with every rally entered well done to you both.
On 3rd December was our Christmas Quiz. 7 teams took part with 9 rounds covering various topics, the winning team was team ‘2 right square left’ made up of Paul & Janet Smalley, David Smalley and Mark Banham and as winners they will be hosting next year’s Quiz. Second were ‘Two Ed’s and better than one’ team Haylock by half a point, maybe some team tactics by them so they did not have to host the next Quiz!!!
13 &14 December was the one and only Preston Rally, quite a few teams and marshals from the club took part, Mark Banham with David Smalley on the maps finished 5 overall and 4th expert only 2 seconds behind 4 overall. Rob Palmer with Jonathan Stimpson finishing 29 overall and 12th expert. Mark Sheffield with Shaun Hannon 31st overall and 10th semi expert. As usual the Preston proved hard on cars with 33 finishers out of 51 starters, Mathew Smalley navigating for Ethan Davis did not finish as did Ian Stancer with Daniel Smith on the maps.
