We start August Full Chat with a report on our 47th Classic Car Rally, which started at High Lodge Thetford with a bacon roll and coffee or cup of tea to set us up for a great ride through country roads / lanes to our lunch halt at the Belfry Hotel at Camborne. Some entries enjoyed a Sunday lunch in the hotel restaurant while others had a picnic on the grass around the carpark.
After lunch we headed off to the finish at Kings School, Ely where tea and cakes were provided, then the presentation of awards was held under the gazebo.

Next up on the 6th August was our last gymkhana of the summer, which was won by Ian Thompson, 2nd David Smalley, 3rd Dale Glover.
We then had some new members Matt and Hannah Ellis competing on the John Hickling Memorial Stages event at Fulbeck, this was their first time on the stages starting 77th but looking at the results they had a few problems as they missed 3 stages but managed to get out again and finished 53rd O/A and 10th in class. So well done to you both on your first outing.
On 9th August we had 6 cars at Snettisham Fate on the club stand, a busy day with lots of interest in the club activities.
The following day we had the club BBQ, we started with a run out from Downham Market through the country lanes to Steve’s place at Eastmoor where on arrival, Steve was busy cooking the BBQ which was enjoyed by all members that came along. More points to Steve for barbequist of the year!!!
The club had a stand at RAF Marham’s Family Day which this year, was a bit different as it was run as a festival style event with various stalls, military vehicles and classic cars on display. There was two spitfire fly pasts, and a pair of Typhoon fighters came over very low with full reheat on, what a noise! Hopefully, next year it will be back to a full air show.
The club also attended the Pentney Lakes Car Show with a club stand; this year the event was well attended by lots of various vehicles on show filling the whole field.
We were lucky in getting a fly past by the BBMF Lancaster.
